A small dosa cafe in Bengaluru wanted wall art. The brief was minimal and appealing — something that made a plain room feel like somewhere, without turning it into a theme restaurant.
The logo, menu, invitation and signage came with it.

the tricky bit
The brief was minimal and appealing — a plain room that needed to feel like somewhere, without becoming a theme restaurant. Indian street imagery gets kitsch quickly, and kitsch is exhausting to eat under twice a week.
The mural also had to sit with a logo, menu, invitation and signage that did not exist yet.
what I did
A single Bengaluru street, hand-painted across the length of the wall, so the room reads as drawn rather than decorated. Line work rather than full rendering keeps it closer to an illustration on the wall than a photograph, which is what stops it tipping into theme.
The rest of the identity takes its cue from the wall rather than the other way round — the same line weight and the same restraint on the menu and signage, so the smallest printed piece belongs to the biggest painted one.
