the brief

Bareveda is an affordable shampoo and soap brand. The brief was packaging for a range: multiple shampoo variants and a set of aroma soaps, all of which had to look like they belonged to each other.

Affordable is the constraint, not the aesthetic.

the tricky bit

Budget personal care usually announces its price with loud colour and too much copy. But go too minimal and it reads as unbranded, which on an Indian shelf reads as untrustworthy.

On top of that, a range means every new variant has to slot in without a redesign.

what I did

One layout, one type hierarchy, and a soft painterly pattern that changes colour per variant. Sandalwood, lime and the rest are told apart by hue and one line of type, not by a different design each time.

The pattern does the work a photograph usually does, which keeps print costs down and makes the shelf look like a family.
